The 49th session of the AITC General Assembly

The 49th session of the General Assembly took place on June 18, 2011. Twenty-eight members were present, and 167 were represented.

Discussions were rich and focused largely on the dangers of new employment arrangements such as "When Actually Employed" contracts, the development of off-site activities, and ways of promoting the Association and modernizing its image.

Elections were a particularly delicate point at this AGM, as no candidate for the presidency of the Association had come forward. In the absence of a successor, Michel Boussommier made it his duty to stand for re-election, a decision which the members present welcomed with enthusiasm and gratitude. Preparing the next generation will nonetheless remain a priority for the Executive Committee and other bodies of the Association in the year ahead.

You will find the new composition of the Association's bodies under Bodies. You will see that new recruits have joined the ranks of the Negotiation and Liaison Committee (NLC), the Home Translation Committee (HTC) and the Minutes Committee (PCV).

In accordance with the Association's internal regulations, the minutes and record of decisions of the AGM will be sent to you within 40 days of the AGM.
